I want you to be open minded before start reading the rest of this blog post, ok?
Cool!
This scandal has got pretty much out of hand over the last couple of weeks, which has made me and many others aware of the dangers of shopping from big chain stores.
I have no idea where the meat comes from, my other fitness friends don’t and it appears the store themselves don’t either.
Forget the horse meat for a second and let’s bring beef back into the picture.
You’ve got the BBQ on and you’ve cooked your tesco burger made from 47% ‘meat’ (which is legal by the way) and you’ve placed it in your bun with some ketchup then you dug in to enjoy the fatty BBQ burger.
What they forgot to put on the packaging is the contents of your beef…
You’re just basically eating a lump of skin, ligaments and heart… PLUS the other crap they put in the “meat’ to fill it up and make it look like a burger
That for me alone raises the question, should we really be buying our food from big chain stores?
The government has taken action to reassure people that there is no threat to human health
I totally agree with the crack down on horse meat but the human threat was already in place even BEFORE the horse meat scandal…
Myself personally, am more worried about the chemical s**t storm that is in every processed and packaged foods. Tests on recycled packaging found it contained mineral oil, a component of printing ink and this contaminates the lack of nutrients in foods.
The e-numbers, unpronoucable names, sugar and sugar substitutes, which are all linked to conditions such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, spasms, shooting pains, numbness, cramps, headaches, joint pain, dizziness and numerous medical problems.
The fats the manufacturers prep the foods in… is all wrong!
Food shouldn’t go soggy and bland after heating and cooking or even keeping food cold.
Cereal fits in perfectly as cold soggy slop!
I urge you to starting thinking about buying fresh local produce. Go to your local butchers and ask where they get their meat from. If it’s local and grass fed then you’re on to a winner. If you want to take it a step further ask the butcher if you can have his suppliers number and find out for yourself where the meat is from and how the animal is kept!
A bit more anal I know, but this is your health after all and you should treasure it.
After your baby teeth have fallen out, we only get one set of teeth in life (shame they don’t grow back like sharks teeth) and you only have 1 body. You can replace teeth when they fall out but you cannot replace a failing organ or cure disease so easily…
Be open minded and try new things…
I got a slow cooker for Christmas and only just started using it this week and I have been missing out BIG TIME. Cooked a lamb shank for 8 hours and when I picked up the shank to place it on my plate the meat just fell off the bone, the flavours were incredible and it only took me 6 minutes to prep the thing!
If you hate cooking or don’t know how to cook, spare a bit of time each day to try out new recipes and ingredients. There’s a tonne of stuff online which you can check out! I got a few of the recipes below online and it took me less than 2-3 minutes to search and find.
Also, check out what meat the butcher’s sells. Maybe get some horse mince, kangaroo, crocodile, buffalo, lamb, wild boar to try in your food.
A kg of beef is £10.00
A kg of horse mince is under £5.00!
You’d be saving some DOSH and varying your diet with different animal fats (which are VERY good for you) and saving yourself from possible health issues later on in life.
So eat your horse meat (from a trusted source) and never say NEEYYYYYYYVER! ;-p
I trust you to make the right choices
To your health
