Have you ever trained so hard and
and you couldn’t sit on the loo next
day?
I have a number of times.
I actually like the soreness because I
feel like I’ve done some good.
But it’s not great what you can’t do ya
business properly on the loo. haha…
My worst was after I rode a horse.
Never again!!
Next day was a struggle, especially
walking down the stairs…
My legs almost gave way under me.
I have my own little check list to reduce
the pain the next day.
Nothing special but it takes the edge of
the sharp aches.
Give this a try next time you complete
a hard session.
1. Drink 2-3 litres of water to stay well
hydrated. Hydration is super important when
it comes to weight loss AND muscle repair
and should not be neglected
2. Stretch and HOLD it for over a minute
and dont bounce. You will get no benefit
from shortening and lengthening the muscle.
Breath in, exhale stretch, inhale again and
exhale and go further. Pilates or yoga will
make great practice.
3. COLD bath before bed - 5 minutes no less.
This will be tough but it will help you
sleep better and it will help your body
do the repair thing it does while we
sleep at night.
4. Get moving and get some blood flowing
through your muscles. It will help keep
your muscles from seizing up.
5. PLEASE for gods sake don’t take Ibuprofen
as a pain relief. It’s terrible for your
liver and kidneys and pointless
unless you have a severe injury.
Toxic liver = more fat stored
And trust me you don’t want kidney
failure.
6. L-glutamine is also a good supplement to
take after training as it plays an important
role in repairing damaged tissue.
Simple stuff and works a treat.
Now go and apply it!
